I wanted to come up with a current trend in media. So I chose Comic Book movies, or Marvel specifically. It started around the time they made the first Spider-man movies in the 90's and has continued to the present. They are getting better, bigger and more fun with every new film they make. I've always loved super heroes since I was very young, Superman was the first I can remember. But films like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are among my very favorite and some well constructed feature films. They can pull at your heart strings and dazzle you with special effects all in one sitting.
I agree completely. Some of my favorite movies in the current era have been about these comic book characters. Spiderman is huge, and they have already decided to remake the series. They will continue to remake these comics with new graphics and action as media evolves. Great post.
I love this current trend in the media as well, I think the best example or at least most successful was the new Batman movies. Imagine what fantastic movies we would have missed if this wasn't a current trend in media. These movies were absolutely fantastic so hopefully this trend continues with other superheroes as well.
Facebook and Instagram are the biggest media trends that impacts my life. You can almost always find me on one or the other. I primarily use social media to stay in contact with my family since they are scattered all over England and Canada. Posting a picture or status explaining an exciting event or even just what is going on during a typical day is a lot easier and cheaper than it is for me to call all of them.
Facebook and Instagram have had huge impacts in society. It's fun to keep up to date with friends, and update others about what's going on in your life. It's certainly more convenient than calling or texting each one of your friends, as you said.
There are many trends in media that have affected my life within the last few years alone. Facebook was huge when I was in high school, but it has gradually become less of the cool social media site that it once was. Twitter and Netflix have been the biggest influence on me. I tweet on a regular basis, about current issues in entertainment, or joking around with friends with communicating through tweets. Most of my friends do have Twitter and people continue to get them everyday. Netflix is huge now! I feel that it's a must for college. The live streaming through my XBox makes it accessible and reliable. There are so many tv shows and movies to choose from and is my main entertainment source of access. As media changes and evolves, I stay up to date with these changes.
My favorite media trend is the recent popularity in teen novels. I'm not sure if this even applies but I feel like it does. When you look back at popular teen fiction, the two biggest I can think of are Twilight and Hunger games, it was such a popular topic in media. Everyone was, or still are reading those books! With the movies and the fun hype that they bring I think it is great. Some hate this kind of attention but I think it is a great way of getting our younger generation to read books and explore worlds outside of the internet and the television. I know it helped me learn to love reading! It wasn't until (I hate to admit this) I read the Twilight Saga that I learned to love reading. I really am a reader now and I like to give a lot of that credit to these fictional novel fads!
