American Genre is really a Forigen Genre

The spaghetti western is considered one of the American genres. The genre started from the film "A Fist Full of Dollars." That film was filmed in Mexico by an Italian director and it is a direct remake of a Japanese film "Yojimbo." The Clint Eastwood film sparked the Man with No Name trilogy which ended with the film "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." These films are known as American but one can find them on the foreign film section in a store.
"The Magnificent Seven" is a western known as one of the best American films in film history but as well was based off a Japanese film. The film of origin is "The Seven Samurai" and is also the basis for the animated film " A Bug's Life." These facts do not hinder that many people, including people from other countries, consider these films American. I would say that these facts prove that they are very American.
The reason is that America is comprised by many immigrants, whether they are white, black, or brown, that come together and make something special. The only reason these facts would be a problem is that people do not realize that many American prides are from somewhere else.

  1. I never knew this about westerns. But i think they are still american genres because that is what all things american is about. our entire culture is made up of pieces of other cultures. whether it be food, music, or movies, it all comes from another place and we make it our own. thats the american way.
