Anyone remember seeing this video, or videos similar to it?? This was the Harvard baseball team, who did a van dance cover to the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. This was the original "van dance" video posted on YouTube, and it went viral, starting a trend of many others. The dance they do to the chorus in this song carried to the baseball field as well. During this time period, guys would mimic there dance moves during the game, and most teams had Call Me Maybe on their soundtracks. Baseball players around the world jammed to it.

2 years ago, after this video and others had gone viral, my summer baseball team gave it a shot. We decided to make a van video on our way to a tournament in Seattle, putting our own twist on it. Our head coach, Cody Reeves, wanted to make a video for his girlfriend, Courtney, to her favorite new country song, Cruise, by Florida Georgia Line. At this time, FGL had about 12,000 followers on Twitter, and weren't well known across the country. Today they have 1.2 Million followers on Twitter, and are signed to one of the biggest record labels in the world.

So the video was originally for our coaches girlfriend, like I said, and coach wanted to show us the video by emailing it individually to us, but the files were too large. He then uploaded it on YouTube, where we could all access it. As it turns out, over a million people happened to like our video as well. Here is the result of that van trip to Seattle, our summer team's claim to fame:

Florida Georgia Line was so impressed with our video they often tweeted at us and even sent us some FGL hats and backstage passes for when they came to Spokane, WA. People have told us through our YouTube comments and tweeted at us that we were the ones who actually introduced them to Florida Georgia Line because of our video.
