Pros of Pop culture

Pop culture is culture that has been transmitted through mass media and has an impact on the way we view ourselves and others. Pop culture takes many aspect such as television, music, movies, news, media and much more. The idea is hard to evaluate its much easier to see but indeed pop culture is everywhere. Whether you are able to identify it or not it surrounds us in everything we do.

The idea of pop culture still puzzles me because it is in my opinion extremely hard to explain. But if I tried I tried to sum it up I would say it is a enormous way to express similar likes and practices. Pop culture is a way for individuals to try and represent themselves in a way that makes us feel unique and special. A disputable idea still lingers in my head and that idea is does pop culture have an overall positive affect on us?

Some positives that run through my head can be celebrities donating to organizations and such and also provide money to a good cause. I feel this can be a positive side of pop culture because fans of these certain celebrities will appreciate the kindness of their favorite celebs and realize its all for a good cause. You can also use social media to try and spread awareness of certain events and such. A good example of that is the new trending ALS ice bucket challenge, a challenge which the person can either pour a bucket of ice water over their head or make a small donation to an ALS charity.

This trend has created a large revenue to the ALS charities across the United States.  This shows how good of an impact media can have on its viewers and users. This is merely one of many positives pop culture has the ability to provide to its viewers.
